Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) recognize the extensive work of the A4L Community in developing a list of elements for individual students IEP - CEDS IEP Elements Workgroup is formed.
SIF Specification Data Model Implementation Specification (North America) 3.4 released.
A4L Community announce the immediate availability of our xPress Roster Certification to the educational marketplace. The purpose of the xPress Roster API is to allow for easy connections for applications to student/class roster information. Over two dozen vendors have already agreed to develop to the xPress Roster API with 2 states (New York and West Virginia) now in statewide development of its usage.
A4L Community release global SIF Infrastructure Implementation Specification 3.2 to the educational marketplace. This release strives to make things simpler for the Consumer while minimizing the impacts on the Provider, and including additional functionality to the Specification through ‘Functional Services’.
US Department of Education join the A4L Community. The diverse A4L Community brings together thousands of educational organizations including vendors, and has been identified by the Department as the ideal place for their support in the development and usage of data systems in a platform independent and vendor neutral manner.
A4L Community endorsed by the UK Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, during her Ministerial Speech and Keynote on the opening day of BETT 2016. “My department intends to begin prototyping new systems for data collection - data exchange - in 2016. It will implement common data standards and work with the Access 4 Learning Community who have achieved great things locally and internationally” - Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities.
Student Data Privacy Consortium launched! The consortium, formed through a year long engagement and request from schools, government agencies and vendors, will provide a collaborative place for members to create a suite of solutions and resources to operationalize student data privacy best practices.
SIF Data Model Implementation Specification (Australia) 1.4 released. The first AU data model which can utilise either the SIF 2.x or SIF 3.x global infrastructure!
SIF Implementation Data Model Specification (North America) 3.3 published, providing many enhancements and features for the education marketplace.
The A4L Community, “powered” by SIF Specifications, is proud to release real-world solutions driven by the needs of users, education institutions and application developers - xPress, a suite of APIs that are designed to provide a standard template for interoperability for in-demand data sharing use cases in PK-12 education. The first two offerings in the suite are xPress Roster and xPress Student Record Exchange (SRE).
